‘Boeing Boeing’ is French charade the English version of which was translated by Beverly Cross. The original production was opened at the Apollo Theatre in 1962 and was later moved to the Duchess Theatre in 1965. The play closed after approximately 2,035 performances over the course of seven years and was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the most performed French play throughout the world in 1991. In 2008, its Broadway version claimed the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

‘Boeing Boeing’ is the story of Bernard, a successful French artist who has three air-hostess fiancées: an American (Gloria), and Italian (Gabriella) and a German (Gretchen). Bernard a hopeless romantic manages to convince all three girls that she is his someone special. He keeps track of their flight schedules and changes the bedroom décor and menu in accordance with their distinct tastes with the help of Bertha, his poor housekeeper. Robert, Bernard’s school friend is amazed at how his friend manages his complicated love life. On the other hand, Bernard is convinced that he has a foolproof plan including a country house as a back up. However, the introduction of a faster Boeing plan upsets Bernard’s carefully planned love life. Robert helps Bernard keep the girls apart as they arrive before or after their scheduled times.
