Cole porter has given the music and lyrics for the musical named Anything Goes. This musical has been based on a book written by Guy Bolton and P.G Wodehouse. The book has been further revised by Howard Lindsey and Russel Crouse. The story of this musical play revolves around madcap antics that are aboard an ocean liner, on its way to London from New York.

A stowaway onboard named Billy Crocker falls in love with an heiress named Hope Harcourt. Hope happens to be engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Billy sets on a mission to somehow win Hope�s heart. He is helped by a public enemy 13 named Moonface Martin and a nightclub singer called Reno Sweeney.

This musical has gained immense popularity after being premiered at the Neil Simon Theater in the year 1934. It has since been revived several times by different production companies and has even been filmed twice. The only three musicals from the 1930s that are still being revived include Anything Goes, Bess and Porgy.
